The Holiday mood has begun in Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Cyberabad. With lakhs of people heading to their respective native places to celebrate the festival of Sankranti, the roads of Hyderabad city are free of the usual traffic snarls.
There was a huge rush at all the major railway stations and two main bus terminals as the families joined the long queues to head towards the native places, mostly to Andhra Pradesh.
South Central Railway is running special trains to deal with the rush. Telangana State Road Transport Corporation(TSRTC) is running hundreds of special buses to ease the congestion.
Some people are going on their own 4 wheeler and two wheelers to the neighbouring districts. The Taxi people are also making good business for Sankranthi after a long gap of Corona.
There are long queues at all the toll plazas.The rush for Sankranti has not only made life easy for the traffic on the city roads but some offices and were also appearing deserted.
The police in Hyderabad and neighbouring Cyberabad, Rachakonda commissionerates have increased their patrolling in areas where number of families have gone to native places.
