The FIR filed against the 49 personalities has been quashed. Officials thought it fit to quash the FIR as it was not right to drag the personalities and also that too for writing a letter to the PM Modi.

It may be recalled that an FIR was filed against the Film Personalities Maniratnam, Aparnasen and others for writing an open to Prime Minister Modi on mob lynching. The FIR was filed in the Muzzafarnagar police station of Bihar yesterday.

It may be noted that 49 film personalities have signed a petition against the violence and mob lynching, which was sent in the form of an open letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They opined that the intolerance was growing in the country and that people were being killed by the mobs.

The FIR was filed after the local court ordered for the same. An advocate by name Sudhir filed a petition in the court seeking the police to take an FIR over the issue. Around 49 personalities were named in the FIR it is reported.

All the 50 personalities who are popular were named as accused in the FIR. The FIR was lodged under sedition, public nuisance and hurting the religious sentiments apart from insulting others.

So far there is no response from these film personalities who earlier wrote an open letter to the Prime Minister. The film personalities urged the Prime Minister to stop mob lynching of the Muslims and Dalits.

They opined that the slogan Jai Shriram was reduced to just a provocative slogan and a provocative war cry.

Earlier film stars like Kamal Hassan and Aamir khan also talked against Modi and that there was no tolerance in the country. Rishi Kapoor another senior actor talked against the Beef ban.
