Group-I Officers of Telangana State, attending the 2 nd Foundation Course at Dr MCR HRD Institute, celebrated 95th Birth Anniversary of Dasarathi Krishnamacharyulu with gaiety and reverence.
A number of video clips on the life and works of Dasarathi Krishnamacharyulu were screened.The Group-I Officers recited the poems penned by him.
Sri Dasarathi Lakshman, who graced the event, said that his illustrious father, Dasarathi
Krishnamacharyulu, was a poet, writer, lyricist, humanist, and above all, a freedom fighter, all rolled into one. “His deep commitment to discipline in all walks of life enabled him to excel in multiple domains”, he stated and added that his contributions are so immense that he will remain as a bright star on the horizons of the Telangana State.
Suddala Ashok Teja, a popular lyric writer from Tollywood, said that Dasarathi Krishnamacharyulu was jailed several times for protecting and working for people’s interests.
“Despite all these hurdles, he penned inspiring poems, including, "Naa Telangana, Nakotiratanaalaveena", which caught on with the masses and turned out to be an iconic source of inspiration for the historic movement for separate Telangana State.
“Even though Dasarathi Krishnamacharyulu was a Telugu poet, he considered Urdu and Telugu as his two eyes with which he read other languages.
Sri B P Acharya, IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary & DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute said that the real tribute by the Group-I Officers to Dasarathi Krishnamacharyulu would be to use the occasion of his95 th Birth Anniversary to understand people’s agony and poverty and to contribute their best to find enduring solutions to these perennial problems.
