Like the Congress party in Telangana, there is a lot of trouble brewing in the TDP of Andhra Pradesh. There are 23 MLAs for the TDP with Chandrababu Naidu. It is reported that around a dozen of them are looking at the ruling party as they know that it is of no use staying loyal to the TDP.
But the AP Chief Minister and YSRC Chief Jaganmohan Reddy has suggested that if someone is interested they have to resign to the post of MLA and then join the YSRC. This is not acceptable to some of the MLAs as they have doubts if they would win back the seat or not.
They already have spent huge money for becoming the Legislators in the recent election. Like in Telangana they just want to merge with the ruling party directly saying that they have no confidence in the leadership of the TDP chief Chandrababu.
At the same time, the BJP is also looking for the TDP MLAs in Andhra Pradesh. The thinking is that Chandrababu should not get the post of the leader of the opposition. Jagan earlier announced that he was suggested to poach 6 MLAs from the TDP so that Babu will not become the LOP here in the Assembly.
But Jagan like Modi said that he wants the presence of the opposition in the Assembly. He wants a healthy debate in the Assembly on the issues pertaining to the people.
But the Intelligence in the AP has submitted a report that some MLAs from the TDP want to cross over to the YSRC for getting the things done in the coming next 5 years.
Like the Congress in Telangana, the TDP will also lose at least 10 MLAs to the ruling party or to the BJP it is reported.
It looks like soon the former Chief Minister may lose the post of the leader of the opposition.
