Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam is underwater

The World famous Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) is under knee-deep water. The roof of the Venugopala Swamy Temple as collapsed and four pillars came down due to the gushing of rainwater.

Only one route is open for the pilgrims to go up to the Tirumala. The other route is slowed as the road is filled with boulders which caved on into the ghat road from the other side.

CM Jagan had a video conference with the collector of Tirupathi and advised him to oversee the rescue and rehabilitation operations. The madaveedulu of Lord Balaji is underwater and it is becoming extremely difficult for the pilgrims.

Some cottages also collapsed and the pilgrims were shifted to other cottages. People who could have darshan of Balaji for the last two days will get allowed on other days.

The houses located on either side of the Swarnamukhi river also collapsed. Both TTD and also Tirupathi is under waterlogging. Rescue operations are going on.

The gates of Kalyani dam have been lifted and the water is flowing into the low lying areas…
