On the day of World Womens day TRS MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar remembered the women who helped him to grow in his life to this extent as an MP.

He stated:”I grew up in a family where all girls and boys are treated equally. No, no, girls in fact always enjoyed an upper hand and are greater equals even as we boys stared at their achievements, abilities and accomplishments in awe!

Though I grew up in Kodurupaka a village in Karimnagar, I never witnessed any discrepancies in bringing up a girl child. In fact, women of all age groups – be it mother, daughter, the daughter-in-law is like a Goddess Lakshmi and they have an equal say at all levels. Growing up and now, I continue having an indelible impression of many women in my life – my mother Shashikala, my pedhamma garu and wife of Sri KCR garu Shobha Amma, my sisters Kavitha and Sowmya and of course my wife, life partner Rohini.

My mother and pedhamma are like Devaki and Yashodha to me, respectively. If one brought me into this world, the other nurtured my growth. These both incredible women are very generous, quite in their demeanour, extremely caring yet are adept in running families and keeping relations intact.

Come what may, they stick to their principles, never, ever allowed any of us – all children in the family drift away from the path of leading a truthful life.

My mother always reminds me to stay grounded, listen, respect other opinions and do not hurt anyone, at any cost. She taught me that being honest and respectful towards others is like a two-way road and our achievements, growth is always a result of hard work and humble nature and I ensure the following path laid by her in my daily life.

For many, my pedhamma garu is the wife of Chief Minister KCR Garu but for people who know her, she is like a Goddess Annapoorna. It is no exaggeration in saying that almost every person who visited their house even from KCR guru’s Siddipet MLA days since the 1980s, tasted her food and basked in their family’s hospitality.

Having been a shadow of Pedhanaannagaru for more than 4 decades, my Pedhamma is quite aware of the hectic public life of her husband and all of us. Even today, she calls me thrice a day enquiring if I had eaten, asking how I am doing and if I need anything. How lucky am I?

Well, if I am talking about my mother and Pedhaamma, I should certainly mention about two most influential women in my life, my sisters Kavitha and Sowmya.

Kavitha carries many achievements with aplomb. She is a well-informed politician like KCR garu and KTR anna, smart and suave. We both carry a special bond that cannot be explained in words, deeply and truly emotional. Kavitha is a support system, I can rely upon any day, for anything.

My sister Sowmya is academically accomplished, hardworking and extremely caring. I still do not get on how she keeps herself super productive, nurtures interest in learning new tasks, executing them – all with great ease.
And these two girls used to give me a complex growing up and they always do! Their mark sheets with the highest grades used to serve as a testimony of their intelligence whereas we, boys used to get an earful for barely scraping through the pass marks.

I still cannot forget those taunting by Pedhanaannagaru, my father asking us to learn from the girls, get inspired and do well in the classrooms. Whenever I remember these, it brings an instant chuckle to my face. Today, both my sisters are on top of their respective professions and it fills my heart with immense joy. God Bless!

Last but not least, now the most important person in my life, my shadow, support, life partner Rohini – without whom this article is incomplete. The day I met Rohini is still etched in my memories as if it were yesterday. She came across as a kind, sharp, intelligent and super humble person and I fell for her instantly.

She was a techie, and I was so tensed if Rohini would agree to marry me. And when she agreed to marry me, my joy knew no bounds.

Believe it or not, my day starts at 6 am and it goes till 11 pm and Rohini continues to be my incredible support. She never, ever complained in all these years and is like a frontline warrior in handling various issues.

Besides managing the studies, attending both our sons Ishaan and Shreyaan, she takes care of my parents, keeps track of their health, attends guests and a backbone of our family in every true sense. Thank you, Rohini!
These are women in our family, but I salute each woman in the TRS party, Telangana state and in the country, doing their bit for the prosperity of everyone around.

When I proposed the Green India Challenge, I received immense support from the women in my family and others, mostly women. I guess, only a woman can understand the patience and protection extended by Mother Nature, which is totally relatable.

Trees are like a mother, sister, friend and partner – always giving, unconditional, protective and preventing you from making wrong decisions. And all these without asking anything in return!

On this International Women’s Day, let me salute all the women in this world – working relentlessly, marching ahead, winning hearts and making this world a better place.”.With Love,Santanna
