There is a saying that behind every successful man there is a woman. But contradicting that behind every medal winning woman there is a man here in India. All the three have not won the medals but one of them has reached the finals and stood fourth in the competition. They all made us proud. They are the woman folk who gave credibility to Indian sports at the RIO Olympics.
Two of them were out of the Blue. The Gymnast and the shuttler. The wrestling was expected. Gymnast Deepa Karmakar who stood fourth and lost the medal by a whisker was trained by Vishweshwar. He was instrumental in grooming her and made her a proud Gymnast in the volt class. She reached the finals defeating and outclassing the top notch players from the beginning. Both the coach the student deserve a pat. Deepa got a rousing reception in India after returning from RIO.

When it comes to Sakshi the wrestler, Eeswar Dahia the coach was more than a father figure to her and stood by her side like a rock. It was not easy for a girl to go for wrestling and too in a rural area. Eeswar filled her with all the confidence and one can see his joy after Sakshi won the bronze for India. We can say that he played a crucial role in her achievement.

Now what can we say about the great shuttler Gopichand. He was instrumental in grooming Saina and made her great. Here we can say Gopi was behind the success of two women. Later Saina chose to go for a different coaching. From then he took up the cause of Silver medal winner Sindhu and made her a hero. From nothing to finals she fought and reached the winning spot. He was seen shouting behind her during the match and while she was taking the medal. He made her kiss the medal and asked her to flash the tricolor flag. That was the dedication he had for her and assured that next time she will get a gold for India.
