Telangana gearing up for the Budget session 2021-22

The Telangana State Budget for the coming financial year is almost ready. Welfare is the main agenda. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had directed that the State budget for 2021-22 will be a promising one with a bigger outlay than the previous budget focusing on welfare and development programmes.

As per the instructions of the Chief Minister KCR, Harish Rao has been holding daily review meetings with top officials from different departments to present a realistic budget.

The Chief Minister will chair a meeting later this week and give the final touches to the budget. The cabinet will approve the budget to be presented on 18nth in the Assembly.

Agriculture, irrigation, health housing and eduction will get maximum allocation in the Budget. Governor Tamilisai will address the joint session at around 11 am on Monday, marking the commencement of the Budget session.

On March 16, the Legislative Houses will pass resolutions condoling the death of legislators who passed away recently. They will hold meetings on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address on March 17, while the State budget will be presented at 11.30 am on March 18. The Budget meetings will be held keeping the Corona conditions in mind. Sanitising the Members and social distancing will be observed. It may be recalled that there were some cases of Covid last time during the Assembly session.
