Indian cricket team was in dreamland as the marathon home series season ended on a very happy note when they routed the Australians by eight wickets at Dharamshsla today. It started with the kiwis in September and what a home run they have had.
Out of the thirteen Tests played India have won eleven drew one and lost one. Prior to this series they were invincible, winning seventeen tests in a row before losing to the Aussies in this series at Pune.
India now only have to win outside to prove that they are the best playing cricketing nation.
Coming to the Test match at Dharamshsla on day four it was only a formality. But the Aussies fought hard and succeeded in getting the wicket of Murali Vijay quickly. Hazlewood being the successful bowler, getting a nick of Vijay’s bat and Wade made no mistake behind the stumps.
Then Pujara, India’s most consistent batsman in this series got run-out in all sorts of confusion. At that time the Aussies did have a glimmer of hope, but Rahane, who joined Rahul attacked the bowlers and India romped home without any further loss.
Now the big IPL season will be getting underway from fifth April. The inaugural match will be held in Hyderabad. Most of the players who were involved in this series will be seen in action. Let’s enjoy it.
