On credible information, the team of SOT Balanagar zone, Dundigal Police and Agriculture Department. Abusted a Spurious seed racket and nabbed 02respondents who were allegedly selling Spurious Seeds to farmers in Telangana and neighboring states. Later seized around 400 Kgsof Spurious cotton seeds (BG-II) from their possession.

The respondent Mula Harish is a native of Utoor village, Manakondur Mandal of Karimnagar Dist, TS and having good knowledge regarding the Paddy & Cotton

seeds as he worked in the Seeds company as a Field Assistant and Sub-Organizer, later he started doing Seeds business in various districts of Telangana. In the year

2017 he was arrested by Sulthanabad Police Station of Ramagundam Commissionerate and during the year 2020 remanded fromMunugode&&Chandur Police Stations of Nalgonda Distin Spurious Seeds cases. After getting released from Jail the respondent went to Nandiyal Dist at one of his friend Mahesh who used to work as a Paddy seeds mediator between buyer and seller. While staying in Nandiyal met with Alisha through Mahesh

As cotton is one of the commercial cash crop that is planted extensively by the farmers during Kharif season. The respondent Mula Harish taking as an advantage came in contact with his associate “ALISHA” belongs to Nandiyal of Kurnool Dist, AP who supplies Spurious Cotton seeds. Basing on that, the respondent colluded with Hari Prasad who is Bolero carrier vehicle driver transported 400 kgs of BG-III Cotton Seeds from Nandiyal toHyderabad via Dundigal area with the intention to pack the loose Cotton seeds into small packets and directly sell it to the farmers.

Subsequently, during the transportation process apprehended accused Mula Harish and seized BG-1Il cotton seeds of 400 Kgs &one Bolero carrier vehicle from their possession. Further it is revealed that, altogether the accused persons have luring the innocent farmers to buy the Uncertified and government banned cotton seed (BG-II).

Further it is revealed that the supplied Spurious cotton seed effect the environment and weakens the soil in very less period of time. With above reasons Government have banned these Spurious Cotton Seeds (BG- II, HT).

The above arrests were made under the supervision of Sri Stephen Raveendra, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad Sri G. Sandeep, DCP Balanagar zone, under the guidance of Sri P. Narayana, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police, Special Operations Team, Cyberabad, Sri Ramalinga Raju, ACP Pet-Basherabad Division, Sri B. Jemes Babu, Inspector of Police SOT Balanagar zone, Sri P. Ramana Reddy SHO Dundigal PS, SIP G. Vijay Kumar, SIP M. Kishore and staff of SOT Balanagar zone & Dundigal Police Station, Cyberabad is highly appreciable and will be rewarded suitably.
