Srinivas Goud Minister for sports lauded Sindhu saying that she is the perfect role model for the youth in the country. “She has won two Olympic medals which is a great feat.
She has been inspiring many youngsters with her exploits. We prayed for her to win the gold medal. But nonetheless, she won a bronze medal. We hope we will go on to win many more laurels for the country. She is the pride of both the Telugu speaking states,” he added.
Talking to the media, Sindhu, who is the only female athlete to win two Olympic medals – silver at Rio Olympics and bronze at Tokyo Games, thanked the government of Telangana for the constant support.
“The Government has provided whatever we asked without any delay. When we asked for permission to use Gachibowli Indoor Stadium for training, we got the permission immediately and we started training from the next day itself.
. That helped me in winning a medal in the Tokyo Olympics. I hope to achieve more success for the country and the State,” she said. The AP Government has announced land and Prize money for the Broze winner Sindhu.
We have to see what will be given by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as a gift to Sindhu who made the Telugu states proud.
