Sidhu joins the Congress

Unable to enter and break ice with AAP and Arvind kejriwal, Sidhu has finally landed in Congress. The Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu joined the Congress on Sunday on the last day of Sankranhti, after meeting party vice president Rahul Gandhi, ending a long period of vacillation for the three-time former MP.

However, the formal joining will take place at the Congress headquarters in Delhi on Monday it is reported. He was around the Congress party Office and Rahul Gandhi the Vice President of the party since last 4 days.

Sidhu was supposed to join the Congress last week but went incommunicado at the last minute.

The 53-year-old is known as a star vote-catcher who is likely to help the Congress overcome a strong fight from the Akali Dal and the AAP in the Punjab assembly elections. The northern state goes to the polls on February 4 and the Congress is hoping to come back to power after a decade.

He was termed as the CM candidate of AAP In Punjab. Since there was no response from AAP, it is reported that now he was promised the deputy CM Job from the congress party it is reported. He will also get around 40 seats it is reported. Except joining the Congress nothing so far has been confirmed.
