After days of suspense over, it seems like Congress has finally zeroed in on the next CM face of the state. According to sources, Siddaramaiah will be the next Karnataka CM with DK Shivakumar as his deputy.

Congress legislature party meeting will be called tomorrow (May 18) at Kanteerava Stadium around 3.30 pm.

DK Shivakumar, who was another contender in the race to be Karnataka CM, is likely to be offered plum portfolios along with the Deputy CM post.

In the elections to the 224-member Assembly, the Congress secured a simple majority with 135 seats, while the ruling BJP and the Janata Dal (Secular) secured 66 and 19, respectively.

Both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar played a significant role in the Congress’s emphatic win in the recently held Assembly election in Karnataka in which the party won 135 of the 224 assembly seats and ousted the BJP from power.
