Ayodhya advocate is dead

Former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir has expressed his heartfelt condolences over the passing of senior Supreme Court advocate Zafaryab Jilani on Wednesday.

In a condolence message, Shabbir Ali said, “The demise of Zafaryab Jilani is a great loss not only for his family and friends but for the entire legal community. He was an accomplished lawyer and an integral part of the legal fraternity in India.”

Zafaryab Jilani was widely known for representing the Muslim side in Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi and Babri Masjid dispute and had served as a member of the Muslim Personal Law Board, Chairman of Babri Masjid Action Committee, and Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh.

Shabbir Ali praised Zafaryab Jilani’s contribution to the legal profession and the Muslim community, saying, “He was a respected and knowledgeable advocate who fought for the rights of his clients with passion and dedication. His loss will be felt deeply by all those who knew him and worked with him. May Allah grant him a high place in Jannah.”
