The Congress party has come to a conclusion that it is too risky to fight the by-election in Kodangal right now. It looks like Revanth has already run out of steam.
it will be an isolated by-election and the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi will mobilise all its forces, to win the seat, as had happened in Nandyal, where Naidu did everything to win the seat for the TDP.
Already, the TRS had trapped all the major TDP leaders and cadre in Kodangal and Revanth has become virtually all alone in his own constituency.
TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has entrusted the task of ensuring the TRS victory to the irrigation minister T Harish Rao, who is a mastermind in political manipulations.
So, if Revanth really quits, it will be next to impossible for him to win the seat.
It will be damaging not only to his reputation but also to the Congress, which claimed to have gained strength with his entry.
So, it is better for the Congress to keep silent for now and wait for the developments to unfold till the next general elections.
