It looks like the Congress party is taking UP parliament election very seriously. They have stepped up the strategy work here after the SP and the BSP have announced their Alliance contesting the 50 per cent seats each.
The Congress chief Rahul Gandhi has appointed his sister Priyanka Gandhi as the General Secretary for the UP east. Priyanka will take the responsibility in UP east in February just before the Elections are announced.
Jyotiraditya Scindia will also work for Uttar Pradesh in winning the elections here as the SP and BSP have formed an alliance leaving the Congress aside. The Congress will contest all the seats individually. KC Venugopal has been appointed as the General Secretary of the Congress party.
Ghulam Nabi Azad has been appointed as the General Secretary for Haryana. Azad is also looking after the UP responsibilities. UP is crucial to get a large number of MP seats. If one has to get power in India they have to get the majority of seats in UP. It has to be seen which way the people will vote in this multi-cornered contest in UP. The fight will be between SP,BSP-BJP and the Congress. There is a chance that the votes may get divided between the Opposition as it is divided and the BJP may get some advantage.
