Presidents approval required: Council

The President approval is required to close the council said MLC and former Minister Yenamala Ramakrishnudu. Until and unless the President of India Kovind notifies the closure, it keeps functioning said Yenamala.

Talking to the media the job of the select committee will continue on the bill introduced earlier in the council. The closure motion from the AP Assembly cannot disturb the functioning of the council he stated.

This will be a proposal from the Government in the cabinet and also the Assembly. The proposal will be sent to the Parliament. Then the parliament has to make the decisions.The Central Law Ministry has to take the proposal forward.

The AP Assembly will move the motion of the closure of the council and the same would be sent to the central Government. The same has to be approved in the parliament and will be sent for the assent of the President of India.

This will take a minimum of one year at least and till such time the council will continue to work said Yenamala Ramakrishnudu. The same will be contested in the court of law.

The process will be very long and it cannot be closed immediately. The majority of the members in the council are from TDP. Two ministers of the YSRC are from the council.
