The fuel rates are on the rise. There is no respite to the rise in the petrol and diesel rates. The rates have raised more than 20 times in the last two months.

Petrol has crossed Rs 100 per litre in many states. It is costing around Rs 102 as of today.

The taxes in the respective states are also on the rise and this makes all the difference to the common man. One reason for the Petrol bunks to be kept open during the lockdown is collector revenues for the respective state.

Apart from liquor fuel taxes are also adding to the income to the states. The lockdown has made a severe dent in the revenues of the states. Now some states are continuing the lockdown in the first week of next month also.

The sale of petrol and diesel also has come down as the communion of the people has also got reduced because of the lockdown. Hardly 50 per cent of the people were coming out of their houses.

However, the transport vehicles are moving regularly during the nights. The State Road Transport buses are also not plying on the roads with full capacity.

Now more population will come out as the lockdown has been lifted in the state of Telangana.

So this will improve the sale of diesel and petrol to some extent. However, the rates are going up.
