Apart from some big movies and box office hits the year 2016 gave lot of hope and confidence to the small movies. A movie like Pellichoopulu was a surprise hit and people liked it with the fresh content and the fresh faces. The movie has given a new hero by name Vijay Devarakonda to the Tollywood.
Suresh Babu the top producer of Tollywood supported the movie like anything and it has caught up with the expectations of the public slowly and steadily the collections increased. More or less Kabaali of Rajinikanth was released at the same time, but this movie had its own audience. It made big in 60 theaters and made the Tollywood proud and proved that contest is the king in fact for the movies.
It also made its mark in overseas market and now Salman Khan the bollywood King is producing the movie in Hindi. He has taken the rights. The content was good , the casting was good, but it was made a great success with the marketing genius and ability of Suresh Babu. Other wise people would have not seen this good movie which was like a fresh breath of air.
One can compare this movie with Anand of Shekar Kammula where Dilraju made tonnes of money with little investment. Now Suresh Babu has saved Pellichoopulu. These days the new movie makers are after Suresh Babu and they want his backing.
But the new year is lined up with big movies like Baahubali-2, Kahidi no 150, Gautami Putra sathakarni, One has to wait and see if there are any small movies which would make a difference in the near future.
