Deepika Padukone’s upcoming film Padmavati, which also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, has been facing opposition and threats from various groups and thus the makers of the period epic are talking serious cautionary steps to safeguard the film’s release.
As per reports, a unit member from the film revealed, “As a policy, studios insure films, and Padmavati also happens to be insured.”
There have been multiple instances of riots and picketing in movie theatres and to ensure that Padmavati does not incur losses due to any such incidence, the makers have insured the film with an insurance sum of more than Rs. 160 crore.
