AIMIM led by Asaduddin Owaisi makes Boni in Hindupuram municipality. It is the area of our Nata Simham Balakrsihna. In the 16th ward, MIM candidate Jigini won by 123 votes.
MIM is mainly focused on Rayalaseema. MIM did not win except in Hindupur. The party, which was earlier restricted to Kurnool district, contested in several constituencies in the municipal elections.
Competed in Vijayawada, Kurnool Corporation. The MIM has fielded candidates in 50 and 54 divisions in Vijayawada Corporation. The MIM candidates contested in Proddatur in Kadapa district, Adoni in Kurnool district and Hindupuram municipality in Anantapur district.
However, there are allegations that there is a strategy behind MIM getting into the Andhra election ring.
The TDP is said to have fielded MIM candidates in the same seats where the YCP has been fighting fiercely. There are also allegations that the MIM was in competition to break the Muslim vote bank that the TDP has been defending.
Criticisms are pouring in that the YCP candidates have won lavishly due to the split of votes. Many are analyzing that MIM contested this election to defeat the TDP as a whole.
Because it is known that MIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi had commented in the last general election that he would give a return gift to Chandrababu. It is also being argued that Owaisi, who had been waiting for the time, is now told to done what he has promised earlier.
So in general MIM has helped YCP to get a clear majority in the seats that they have won and also has taken away the thin margin that the TDP could have got to win the election.
