YSRC led by Jagan sweeps the local polls

It looks like the people of AP want to be with the YSRC Government led by CM Jaganmohan reddy. Despite making all hue and cry the Opposition led by TDP is nowhere in the local polls.

Initial trends in the counting of votes today showed the YSR Congress set for a landslide victory in the Andhra Pradesh local body polls .

YSRC the ruling party was leading in eight municipal corporations and was ahead in 66 of the municipalities and Nagar panchayats where the results were beginning to be declared.

The TDP led by Chandrababu Naidu came a distant second with three leads in the second category. Others such as the Congress and the BJP had drawn nil so far.

In 90 of the 671 divisions in the 12 corporations, candidates had won without contest. In the 75 municipalities and Nagar panchayats, up to 490 wards had chosen members unanimously.

More than 65 per cent of polling was reported in the elections. The YSR Congress has already bagged the Pulivendula the Chief Minister’s home constituency, Punganuru, Piduguralla, and Macherla municipalities “unopposed”.
