NET or Equivalent Qualification: NET/equivalent qualification is essential wherever prescribed. Any national level examination conducted by a Central Government Department/Agency for admission to Ph.D. programme is considered as equivalent to NET. The following examinations have also been equated to NET :
1. CSIR – UGC National Eligibility Test including NET – Lecturership
2. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by MHRD.
3. Joint Admission Test (JAM) conducted by MHRD.
4. Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test(GPAT) conducted by MHRD.
5. Biotechnology Eligibility Test & Test conducted in Bio-informatics by Bio-informatics National Consortium.
6. Joint Entrance Screening Test(JEST), Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences(JGEEBILS) conducted by Department of Atomic Energy.
7. JRF Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research.
8. All India Competitive Examination (AICE) conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
Emoluments : The Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) carries an amount of Rs.25,000 per month, with a possibility to be increased to Rs.28,000/-, a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF), after two years, on successful completion and review of research work of the previous two years by a review committee.

Selection Process: The Qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make the candidate eligible to be called for interview. There will be an initial screening based on the academic performance and other parameters given in the online application and only those who are screened-in will be called for interview. Selection will be made based on performance in the interview.
Place of Posting : The selected candidates are likely being posted at NRSC – Earth Station Shadnagar campus, Mahabubnagar District, Telangana State or at NRSC, Hyderabad. However, the selected candidate is liable to be posted in any of the Centres/Units of ISRO/DOS situated in India as and when required.
Note : JRF 9 and JRF 11 positions are for RRSC – Jodhpur and selected candidates will be posted at RRSC – Jodhpur.
Period of Engagement: Junior Research Fellows will be engaged initially for a period of TWO YEARS and their term shall be extended based on need and assessment of their work requirements of the project, for a maximum period of FIVE years. There will be a review of the activity every year before renewal of fellowship.
