Telangana Governor Tamilisai stressed the need to fill up all the vacancies including Vice-Chancellors and faculty members immediately, to develop job oriented courses and also undertake improvements in making the teaching-learning process more interesting and stress-free for the students. The growing role of technology and professional courses in the Universities must be tapped to encourage more women to take up the courses and also contribute to economic growth.

She also exhorted the Universities to expedite the opportunities of providing study opportunities to NRI students so as to tap the large potential which can be tapped by the Universities and also generate source of revenue to meet growth plans.

She also advised Universities to involve alumni to participate in the University academic and developmental activities. The Hon’ble Governor wanted to achieve accelerated progress in Higher Education similar to the way the statehood was achieved.

She reminded that the faculty in the Universities should provide the concept of “Academic Social Responsibility” (ASR) so that the schemes of the Government at Central and State level can be effectively implemented and monitored by the educated persons in the society.

The Hon’ble Governor also gave the following suggestions to the TSCHE for implementation:

1.To promote the concept of “love and learn” and “enjoy and educate”.

2.Strengthen libraries and encourage the use of digital resources.

3.The Universities must also concentrate on the health of the students by preparing “Health Profile” of students and also develop a nutritional index of the students in Telangana and also include Yoga in the curriculum.

4.The Universities must encourage “research and development” activities and prepare a “data bank” of research papers and activities being undertaken by each University.
