On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has conveyed his greetings to women in the State. The CM said that the government is taking several measures for the welfare of women in the State. More new and innovative programmes for women will be launched this year. The women in the State should take advantage of the programmes, schemes of the government and move forward said CM.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the CM has taken an important decision for an increased role for women in the governance. The CM has decided to give nominated posts to women who took an active role in the Telangana Statehood movement and also in the movement for women development.
The CM has constituted a three-member Committee to select women candidates for the Chairperson of certain Corporations and other nominated posts.
The three-member Committee consists of Deputy Speaker in the Legislative Assembly Ms Padma Devender Reddy, Karimnagar ZP Chairperson Ms Tula Uma and Nizamabad MP Ms Kavita Kalvakuntla.
KCR has asked the Committee members to prepare a list of the eligible women based on which the nominated posts will be filled up with women candidates shortly.
