There is a lot of Hungama going on about the celebration of the news year 2018 in the Temples.  The Government of AP has directed the concerned department not to celebrate the New year in Temples as it is not concerned with the Telugu culture.

The direction looked as if it was given by the BJP Government. The AP endowment Minister Manikyal Rao is from BJP. Ugadi is celebrated as the new year for Telugu people in particular.

The TTD has never celebrated January 1 as the New Year and will not do so this year either, TTD E.O. Anil Kumar Singhal told media persons.

No new year celebrations at TTD
An internal circular was issued by Hindu Dharma Parirakshana Trust through Endowments departments last week to stop celebrating the new year at the temples in the state.

So far the Telangana Government is yet to decide over the matter. Some people opined that it should be left to the whims and religious sentiments of the people if they should go to the Temples or not and if they should celebrate the new year or not.
