Prime Minister Narendra Modi today offered worship at Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirupati. He was received with Poorna Kumbham and mangal Vayidyam by the temple authorities. The PM refused to speak in the Temple where a mike was arranged for his address after the lords darshan. During his earlier visit in October, PM made a speech inside the temple about the Lord and how happy he was visiting TTD.
But this time he refused to accept the request of the EO. When the EO invited Modi to talk he just nodded the other way and walked out of the Temple. He almost went up to the podium and walked back. Both Governor and CM were at a distance at this juncture.
He said after the ‘darshan’ that he sought blessings of the Lord for the country to progress with peace, unity and harmony, and hoped that the country will continue to have his blessings to alleviate poverty and for a change in the lives of people.
Narendra Modi, who was on a visit to Andhra Pradesh, for the 104th Science congress meet at Tirupathi said it was good fortune that he got blessings of the Lord Balaji .
Accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu he took part in various rituals amid chanting of Vedic hymns by a group of priests.
Priests and the temple authorities gave ‘laddu’ and other sacred offerings to Narendra Modi, who was on his first visit to Tirumala temple after taking assuming office as the prime minister last year.
