There is a lot of discussion on Prime Minister Narendra Modis foreign trips. People say crores are spent on his foreign visits. But there is another angle to his trips also where he tries to save money for the Government.
It is reported that Modi takes less security along with him when he is in other countries. The local police also provide him with security cover. He does not take media with him. So there is no expenditure in the name of media contingent.
On the other hand, he does not use hotels when he is out of the country. He travels during nights and sleeps in his flight. He takes rest in the flight only during nights so no question of using hotels.
Even during transit, he uses Airport toilets and bathrooms to take a bath. So there is no question of a hotel being booked for him That way he saves money here and there.
There will be expenditure for the VVIP travel, but when compared to others Modi saves at least 20 per cent in the name of reducing security cover, not using hotels, travelling during the night so on and so forth. Avoiding Media contingent also adds to saving money.
