The Tourism department is planning Mini craft Melas in Mini Shilparamams across the state. They are planning a meal in Uppal to begin with it is reported. The Minister has suggested that Melas should be conducted across the state so that the artisans will be encouraged and the people will be able to purchase some crafts and other items from the Mela.
Appreciating the success of the recently held All India Crafts Mela at Shilparamam, Madhapur, the Hon’ble Minister Srinivas who was the Chief Guest on the concluding day has announced that similar Shilparamams will be taken up in all the districts of Telangana area and such festivals will be organised to promote, propagate, preserve and conserve the rich culture, customs and traditions of our country.
The Minister categorically mentioned to the press that his department of Youth, Advancement, Tourism and Culture has always been very active and made Telangana as a happening state.
He also emphasised that the artisans of handicrafts and Handlooms be given chance in the melas to sell their merchandise and get themselves relieved from the clutches of the middlemen.
From this angle, he requested the Special Officer to organise a craft mela in the mini Shilparamam at Uppal area where the density of population is very thick and art and craft lovers are more.
The Special Officer is requested to plan and organise a Craft Mela at mini Shilparamam, Uppal from 23rd January to 31st January, 2021 itself for the benefit of the people of the Eastern city areas.
