Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka expressed concern that the condition of the power supply in Telangana was creating anxiety. Today, a white Paper on the steps taken for uninterrupted power supply in separate Telangana.
He said that they were releasing the White Paper only to keep the public and officials informed about the existing power condition.
Mallu Bhatti wanted the members of the opposition to come up with constructive suggestions, not mudslinging on each other in the process. He wanted the opposition not to get into personal criticism.
The deputy CM mentioned the various measures taken up in the sector during the last nine-and-a-half years.
He also informed that the power generating Genco, power supplying Transco, north and south power distribution organization has loans of Rs 81,000 crore and losses to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore.
The CM on the other hand cancelled his Delhi trip scheduled for today. The opposition members Jagdish and others demanded that free power should be given to the people as promised by the Congress in the election manifesto.
Free power to farmers and 200 units free to domestic consumers must be given at any cost they demand.
