Make Yoga as a part of your life: Governor Bandaru

Bandaru Dattatraya Hon’ble Governor for Himachal Pradesh performed Yoga through a virtual platform organized by the State Ayurveda department at Raj Bhavan, today on 21st June, 2021 on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

On the occasion, Hon’ble Governor said that Yoga is a spiritual, mental and physical practice that has been around for ages and people have discovered a number of health benefits associated with Yoga. He said that Yoga does more than burning calories and strengthening muscles, it is a workout that involves both body and mind.

Shri Bandaru Dattatraya Dattatraya said that International Day of Yoga was celebrated throughout the world for the first time on 21st of June in 2015 on the initiative of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi who during his address in the United Nations General Assembly on 27th of September in 2014 highlighted benefits of Yoga and urged to celebrate Yoga Day throughout the world. Millions and millions of people across the globe have benefitted by the practice of Yoga and it is blossoming and growing more vibrant with each passing day, he said.

Bandaru Dattatraya urged the people to make Yoga an integral part of life which has been part of our old traditions and stressed on making it a routine activity to evade negative energy in life. Yoga was the best means to purify mind and soul and without it we can not envisage a healthy body, he added. He expressed happiness that yoga programs were being organized through virtual platforms in a big way throughout the state .
