“Long live KTR. May the God give him the strength to help many more people. I am very happy that he has immediately responded to my grievance and addressed it. The young minister is very quick in action,” said Seshanavaratnam, the octogenarian woman who stole the show at Friday’s Mana Nagaram program.
Close on the heels of the instructions of Minister for Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao, a team of officials of the GHMC inspected her residence in KPHB Colony. They immediately had the kitchen of Kritunga restaurant being operated in a lower-income group (LIG) residential apartment closed down. The heat and pungent odour it generates has become extremely unbearable to occupants of the apartments in the same complex. The huge gas cylinders used for cooking purpose were posing a danger.
Zonal Commissioner of GHMC D Harichandana said that the restaurant did not have trade licence and the running of the kitchen was in contravention of the fire-safety norms prescribed by the Government. The GHMC officials inspected the premises and found it to be violating the rules. Immediately, the officials served a notice on the owners and closed down the kitchen. The GHMC officials also sealed the premises.
