Yes, it is true that the petrol prices are high when you compare them with the UPA Government. They were rising since last 12 days. In the year 2003 under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government, the petrol price was just Rs 29 per litre. But in the year 2006 when Congress-led UPA was ruling, the price jumped up to Rs 47 per litre. In the year 2010 when the UPA-2 was ruling India, the petrol price was Rs 51 per litre and in the year 2012, the price shot up to Rs 65 per litre. In the year 2014, it was Rs 73 per litre.

So all put together under the 10 years of the Congress-led UPA government, the price of petrol went up from Rs 29 to Rs 73 per litre. But it has been 4 years since Modi became India’s Prime Minister but the petrol price has just increased by Rs 3. to 5. So the BJP leaders say that it is not a big rise when compared to the UPA, regime and however the BJP government is trying to bring them under control.
