It is clear that the BP is trying to encash the release of Razkar in the coming days. The BJP national General Secretary Bandi Sanjay has praised the teaser of the movie.
With the Telangana Legislative Assembly election scheduled for this December, the release of Razakar movie can influence public opinion towards BJP. A minority party in the state with just a few seats, BJP is trying hard to gain public approval.
But KTR the minister for IT and Industries opposed the trailer and also the movie. It will ignite differences in society he opined. The Censor Board must look into the issue he suggested.
One of these measures was to get September 17 (the day when Nizam accepted defeat) recognized as “Telangana Liberation Day”. This campaign was also repeatedly mentioned at the poster launch of Razakar.
While it is obvious that the BJP will back the release of Razakar and possibly ask for it to be screened “tax-free”, CM K Chandrashekhar Rao and his party Bharath Rashtra Samithi would be in a fix.
Even if the movie resorts to hate-mongering, it will be difficult for them to voice any criticism. The BJP has celebrated te Liberation Day in Hyderabad, while the BRS has celebrated it in the name of Integration Day.
We have to see how far the movie will help the BJP and how far the people will like it.
