Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed happiness that the Palamuru district, which used to be the home for starvation deaths and labour migration, has become an international dais for greenery under the self-governance.
Water for irrigation given through several projects constructed by the Telangana State government have turned the arid lands into fertile ones and there is greenery everywhere with bountiful of crops in the State.
He said it is a moment of happiness to note that the Palamuru district which was once had arid lands, rocks and hills is now changed its topography with greenery and making rapid strides in development.
MP Sri J Santosh Kumar and Minister Srinivas Goud have received a memento from Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao at PragathiBhavan here on Friday given by the Guinness Book of World record.
The record was given entry into the World records book for preparing seed balls on a record scale in MahaboobNagar District and forming the longest sentence with the seed balls. The CM congratulated the MP and Minister for their efforts.
The CM also congratulated Palamuru district women self-help groups for preparing 2.10 Crore seed balls in a record 10days’ time and for spraying them on hills, upland areas in a month’s time to achieve more greenery with less cost.
