TTD is organizing a grand festival of Jyestabhishekam (Abhidyeyaka Abisekam) at Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple from June 30 -July 2 where in the Golden Kavacha of utsava idols of Sri Govindaraja Swami and His consorts are removed and readorned three days after the rituals.
As part of the proceedings of the fête Kavachadivasam will be performed on Day -1 that is June 30, Kavacha Pratista and Kavacha Samarpana rituals are observed on July 1 and 2.
On all three days, TTD Archakas will perform Maha Shanti Homa and Punyahavachanam in the morning followed by Snapana Tirumanjanam to the utsava idols and Veedhi Utsavams.
Legends say that the Jyestabhishekam fete is observed in the temple every year during Ashada month in the advent of the Jyesta star. Tirumala Senior Pontiff Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyarswami will commence his Chaturmasa Diksha at Tirumala from July 3.
A descendant of Sri Ramanujacharya, the senior Tirumala pontiff will commence his vratam a day after Purnima at Tirumala by offering prayers at Varahaswami temple, Swami Pushkarani ahead of entering the Srivari temple.
He will be accompanied in his holistic procession from his mutt near Bedi Anjaneya temple along with his second in command Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyarswami and his disciples.
The TTD EO and other temple officials will receive at the temple Mahadwaram and lead him for Srivari Darshan. Thereafter both the pontiffs will be presented with a sacred vastram.
