Brilliant double century by Cheshwara Pujara – his 199-run seventh wicket partnership with wicket-keeper batsman Wriddiman Saha, who also hit a fine ton and Ravindra Jadeja’s two quick wickets towards the end put India in a commanding position at the end of fourth day’s play at Ranchi.

Now either Indian victory or a draw that is what anybody can predict tomorrow. Australia now trail by 129 runs with eight wickets in hand. They lost David Warner and night watchman Lyon in the ten overs they got to play on the fourth evening.

The Australians were well in control of the match till yesterday afternoon, but Pujara and Saha totally reversed the prospects of the match with their fine batting. The Aussies will be batting under tremendous pressure to save this match on the final day, which is enough for them to retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy, while India need to win the series.

With odd ball turning and keeping low they have to bat cautiously every session tomorrow.
The fourth day totally belonged to Pujara and Saha. Today the Aussies had to toil hard to separate these two though couple of close calls didn’t favour them to do so.

Pujara, who is considered to be another wall of Indian cricket showed tremendous skills of patience and got wonderful support from Saha at the other end. It was after tea interval, the Aussies could get the wickets of these two, who in fact fell in accelerating the score.

Towards the end Ravindra Jadeja played a cameo innings of 54 as the Indian captain declared the innings when they reached 603 for nine.

Minimum ten overs remaining the tourists batted under pressure and lost both Warner and Lyon. Warner got a beauty from Jadeja as the ball turned sharply from out side to hit the stumps. Then Lyon the night watchman survived a few seconds before his stumps were uprooted.

Now uphill task ahead of the tourists tomorrow.
