The mortal remains of Harikrishna reached at about 4 PM in the evening. NTR carried the pot with water along with the funeral pyre while kalyan Ram walked along with him. Kalyan Ram lit the funeral pyre. The police gave the salute by firing the shots in the air. It was the gun salute from the State Government.
AP CM Chandrababu, Hari’s sons NTR and Kalyanram were with the body in a procession to the cremation ground at Mahaprasthanam. Both the sons together did the cremation here in Hyderabad. First, they wanted to do it at the farmhouse in Moinanbad, but since the State Government under the leadership of KCR agreed for a monument here at Mahaprasthnama they changed the venue.
Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, MLA Gopinath Reddy looked after the arrangements here. Kodali Nani the YSRC MLA was there with NTR all the time. The body was wrapped the with yellow TDP flag. All the family members carried the body of Harikrishna here at Mahaprasthanam.
Chandrababu and Justice Chalmeswar were in the front while carrying the body for the last rites. First, they wanted to take the body to the NTR Trust Bhavan, but the purohits advised against that and then it was directly taken to the Mahaprasthanam. All the family members laid wreaths over the body of Harikrishna and looked at him in the end for one more time.
The security men had a tough time in controlling the crowd from Mehdipatnam. Some VIPs were also pushed in the process. The body was consigned to flames with full state honours and traditional hymns.
Balakrishna looked calm and composed and was out of his usual style. Looked confused. The funeral pyre was lit by both Kalyanram and NTR. It was Chandrababu who managed the entire show without any rupture between the families of NTR and also Kalyan Ram. Both of them got the due recognition and sharing of the responsibility.
