Governor Tamilisai today launched the Alai Bhalai program here at the Jala Drusyam on the banks of Hussain Sagar organised by Governor Bandaru Dattatreya.
Tamilisai danced with the traditional Girijan Dancers here. Alai Bhalai is an annual feature being organised by senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya who is the Governor now.
His daughter is organising the program now. This is being organised on the eve of Dasara where people meet cutting across the party lines. Leaders from all the political parties attend the meet and have traditional Telangana food here.
This is very popular in Telangana. The traditional cultural forms of Telangana are also presented here just before the speeches of the political leaders.
The program is called Dasara Milan and is being attended in large numbers. People come and meet here apart from enjoying the Menu like Sakinalu, Muruku, Ragi Ambali , Talakaya Kura, Boti and other popular foods of Telangana.
Dancing, Singing, eating and celebrating friendship cutting across the party lines is the main feature of this Alai Bhalai where people hug each other.
