Remakes and sequels are the order of the day. Instead of going for a new story and taking risk, the directors are for remakes and also sequels. Venkatesh is one star who has done so many remakes and has tasted success.
Now a director is planning to make a remake with 5 leading leadies. This is sure shot hit movie and director is taking no chance. Same story with a different lead lady and chaning the language to suit the needs of the local people and slang it is reported.
Remaking a Mollywood film seems to be the trend in Tamil cinema now. Having tasted success with the remake of Thattathin Marayatthu as Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai in Tamil recently, director Mithran Jawahar is once again going the same route.
Grapevine has it that he plans to remake the 2014 woman-centric Malayalam hit, 100 Degree Celsius, which had five heroines — Shweta Menon, Meghna Raj, Bhama, Ananya and Haritha — in lead roles.
Based on real-life incidents, the movie revolved around the lives of five women — a housewife, banker, IT professional, TV reporter and a college student, and it was Malayalam cinema’s first two-part film.
Now, insiders reveal that Trisha is Mithran’s first choice for the main lead and talks are on with her. Raai Laxmi has already been roped in. Who knows the same could be dubbed into telugu also or could be made in Telugu again.
But these days people are shooting three langauges at a time on the same set by chaning the stars.
