Air India the National carried is all set to fly its 423 seater, double-decker Boeing 747 aircraft to Mumbai and Kolkata from October 16 to meet the Dasara rush. Dasara festive season starts from around October 15 and it will be there for 10 days.
So Mumbai and Kolkata are big-time destinations for Air India now.
The Jumbo double-decker will have one flight per day to the two destinations from New Delhi from October 16nth it is reported. The Air India has issued a press statement in this regard. These are 4 engined planes operate in International routes for the VVIPS.
Since it is festival time and Air India is becoming 50 years old in the operations of Boeing 747 operations. So for the Golden Jubilee and the Durga Asthami, the flights are being operated.
It is a good opportunity for the common people to fly in double-decker jumbos as they are used by VVIPs only.
