After Bullet and Lambretta now it is time for Jawa. Yes the old timers favorite Jawa is all set to come back. In what can only be described as the best news for the motorcycle lovers to come out this week, Mahindra and Mahindra is bringing back the legendary Jawa brand name to India!

Old-timers will remember the Jawa. Built and sold by the Ideal Jawa company of Mysore, the Jawa 250 was a popular model. So much so that it still has a cult following in the country. Soon, it gave way to the Yezdi before the company shut shop in 1996.

Mahindra hasn’t acquired the Czechoslovakian brand, but the licensing rights for India. Mahindra says it will develop the Jawa brand of motorcycles in India and production will take place at company’s plant in Pithampur.

The motorcycles won’t carry Mahindra branding either. We expect a model to be showcased at the next Auto Expo in 2018.
