As stated by TRS working President and Minister K Taraka Rama Rao Bonthu Sridevi from Cherlapally could be the next Mayor of the GHMC.
If TRS wins 45 divisions it will have the support of the MIM and the other law makers apart from the ex-officio members to take the Mayor post.
Winning around 50 seats may not be difficult for the TRS even if the BJP takes 40 seats. MIM might retain all the 40 seats that it is setting right now.
Sridevi is the wife of Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan. KK Kesava Rao the RS members daughter is also contesting the GHMC election from Banjarahills. But she may not get the mayor post.
Bonthu Rammohan is the blue eyed boy for KTR and in place of Bonthu, his wife could become the Mayor this time if TRS wins the election. MIM and TRS can win the Mayor seat easily, there need not be any doubt about this.
So getting Mayor post may not be possible for the BJP this time, unless and until there is a wave against the TRS in city. Even if TRS and MIM get 30 seats each, it will be 60 seats and they can get the Mayor post easily.
So the BJP can forget about the Mayor post this time. Minister KTR along with Sriniva Yadav is all set to kick of the campaign from 22nd of this month.
It will be concluded with a huge public meeting at the LB stadium to be addressed by the TRS chief and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao. KCRs public meet will make all the difference for the GHMC elections.
