BEWARE OF LUCKY WHEEL SPIN FRAUD

Fraudsters are luring innocent people in the name of winning exciting prizes by spinning a wheel. Recently many such phishing links which redirect to a lucky spin wheel are circulating in Whatsapp, Social Media Platforms and e-commerce sites. After clicking on the link, it redirects to a spinning wheel, where after spinning, a pop-up saying “u won a mobile/prize” appears and asks to share the link to others.

Through these links, the data of the user is getting compromised and later the amount is getting debited from the accounts of the innocent public.

Recently few complaints are registered at Cyber Crime PS, Cyberabad, where the complainants got lured in the name of winning prizes by spinning the wheel.

In view of the rampant increase of circulation of such phishing links, the public is advised to take precautionary measures while clicking on the links to prevent the public from losing money to the cyber fraudsters.

Advisory to Public:

  • Do not to click on the links circulating in social media platforms.
  • Verify and know the genuine links and sites you are redirected to.
  • Don not believe the gift offers/prizes online. Please verify.
  • Do not click on any links as your personal data may get compromised.
