Commissioner Of Police, Cyberabad Shri. VC Sajjanar, IPS., along with the other officers garlanded the portrait of Jagadguru Basaveshwara on the eve of his Jayanti and recalled his services for the society.
Commissioner Of Police, Cyberabad Shri. VC Sajjanar, IPS., said On Basava Jayanti, I bow to the great saint Jagadguru Basaveshwara. He was a 12th-century poet-philosopher & the founding saint of the Lingayat tradition who devoted his life to service & social reforms.He was a social revolutionary much ahead of his times.
His noble teachings, particularly the emphasis on social empowerment, harmony, brotherhood and compassion continue to inspire several people all over the world. All of us should follow him and re-dedicate ourselves for nation CP added.
“Basavanna was great social reformer of the world. He spoke about gender equality, casteless society, work is worship” in the 12th century much before the modern philosophers spoke about them.
