Come out with a concrete plan to make Tirumala cent percent free from accidents, directed TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy.
A review meeting on the prevention and precautionary steps to be taken on Ghat Road Accidents was held in the chambers’ of TTD EO in TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati on Monday along with Tirupati JEO Sri Veerabrahmam and CVSO Sri Narasimha Kishore and other officials from TTD and related departments from the district.
The EO said a strong mechanism needs to be placed to beef up the security in Ghat Roads. “For this both the TTD CVSO and District SP should come up with best proposals’, he maintained.
Among other important measures included, ensuring 100% surveillance in Vaikuntham to Temple point and at all the four entry points which include two Ghat Roads and two Footpath routes.
Whenever an accident takes place on Ghats, that case should be referred to SVIMS or BIRRD or SPCHC immediately and the vigilance should alert the concerned hospital so that an action team will be kept ready in these hospitals to attend to the injured without any delay.
During the commencement of vehicle operation in both the ghats, a supervisor on behalf of APSRTC should be available at that time to ensure smooth transportation.
The drivers also need to be guided to maintain proper distance between two buses to ensure road safety.
The possibilities of providing alternate facilities for vehicles or drivers in Tirupati and as well places need to be identified for implementing pre-paid taxi systems in Tirumala to be evolved.
To increase the frequencies of free buses in Tirumala avoiding overcrowding.
