The world’s largest Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation scheme, which is touted as the lifeline for Agriculture sector in Telangana, is already creating wonders by lifting water from river Pranahita. Kaleshwaram project fulfilled the dreams of Honourable Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao by providing irrigation water and address the farmers plights in adverse weather conditions. A new chapter in the annals of Telangana irrigation system is written as river Godavari water is lifted to SRSP ( Sri Ram Sagar Project) from Kaleshwaram in the upstream.
The amazing CM KCR’s vision is remarkable as the Kaleshwaram project is providing water to farming sector even during the dry spell in the state.
The Kaleshwaram project built on river Godavari , is a living source and the crops are being grown with abundant water resources . The river Godavari turned as a lifeline for entire Telangana and providing irrigation facility through Kaleshwaram to dry lands due to deficit rainfall in the current season.
Irrigation experts, Intellectuals and Officials are already making a beeline to visit Kaleshwaram project which is touted as the world’s largest lift scheme.Excited by the growth registered in Telangana under the leadership of CM KCR, BRS leaders from Maharashtra and leaders of various parties visited the Kaleshwaram project on Sunday.
On the instructions of CM KCR, a group of BRS leaders from Maharashtra visited Kaleshwaram project . BRS leader Kalvakuntla Vamsidhar Rao and MLA Jeevan Reddy escorted the leaders delegation. Kaleshwaram project ENC Venkateshwarlu explained the features of Kaleshwaram project to Maharashtra leaders. Officials explained the delegation about the method of lifting of water, Pump sets capacity, technology used etc. The officials elucidated the irrigation water which is being provided to agriculture lands even during dry weather conditions.
Maharashtra leaders praised the Telangana government for taking many initiatives and the vision of CM KCR to solve the irrigation problems of the farmers. They said that Telangana has become ” Granery” of the country with the foresight of CM KCR. Telangana’s growth in all fields, including irrigation, has set an example for the country and other states are emulating Telangana the path.
Senior Maharashtra leader Bhanudas Markute said that he never witnessed such a great project in his life. Bhanudas said that the project is the most magnificent structure in the world and such a project will not be seen in the future also. He visited 32 countries and has never seen such a man-made wonder anywhere, the Maharashtra BRS leader said hailed CM KCR as the only one who will do such miracles. Bhanudas Markute said that he is fortunate to see such a great project.
