Big budget movie producers are shivering as the AP Government has not agreed to hike ticket rates and also for the special shows. The AP Government issued a GO giving different slabs to the theatre owners and also the multiplexes.
The least is Rs 200 and the Highest ticket rate for multiplexes is Rs 250. This is nowhere near the expectations of the exhibitors. But the Telangana Government also did not agree for the hike in ticket rates.
But the exhibitors went to the court it agreed to a hike of Rs 50. So the producers of Akhanda, RRR and Pushpa are happy that they can hike the ticket rate by Rs 50. If you book the ticket online you have to pay a fee of another Rs30.
That means that the ticket rate has gone up in Telangana by another Rs 80 if you are taking it online. But in Andhra, it will be a loss to all the big movie producers. They are not in a position to convince the Government led by Jagan.
The tickets will be sold online directly to the audience or the viewers. The producers of Bheemla Naik and also RRR apart from Akhanda will be a disappointed lot when it comes to Andhra Pradesh.
There is a talk that the movies belong to Balakrishna, Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan, NTR, Allu Arjun who is one way or the other against the Jagan and his government so right now they will not increase the ticket rates.
On the whole, it goes against the interest of the Cinema Business. But AP Government says that it is in the interest of the people that they are not hiking the rate of cinema tickets.
