The forest department is taking all precautionary measures in the wake of rising corona cases again. Minister for Forests and Environment A. Indrakaran Reddy has suggested that all personnel working in the forest on par with frontline warriors should be vaccinated.
Field level personnel are on duty in the forest to control fire prevention, hunting and smuggling activities. The state government has also identified forest department personnel as frontline warriors. The government has informed the district medical officers asking them to give Kovid vaccine as a priority.
With this, the forest department field level staff working in different districts is taking the vaccine doses in collaboration with the medical staff. If the forest department staff is healthy, it will help protect the forest resources as well as the wildlife (PCCF). The PCCF has disclosed the details of the vaccine given to forest personnel to Minister Indrakaran Reddy. The Minister lauded the initiative of the superior officers. The minister asked the forest officials of all the districts to vaccinate the field level personnel as well as the watchers on duty at various Forest base camps.
Authorities are also taking precautionary measures at the Aranya Bhavan, the headquarters of the forest department. In addition to being sanitized twice each day, the staff made sure to properly mask and maintain physical distance. The number of visitors was controlled.
