Today is Ganesh Chaturthi the September 2 and people are ready to worship Lord Ganesha, the god who removes obstacles and paves way for a happy life. The Ganapathi Bappa is being made at about 60 feet at the world-famous Khairatabad Pandal.
But this year there will be no Tapeshwaram Laddoo for the tallest Ganapathi.
It is complete to the extent of 99 per cent and is ready. Himachal Bandaru Dattatreya Governor will be doing the first Pooja for the tallest Khairatabad Ganesha here on Monday. It is 61 feet.
First Dattanna will go to Bahethi Bhavan for performing the Pooja at Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi office and from there he will come to Khairatabad at around 11.30. Former Governor Narasimhan was supposed to do the honours. But he has been withdrawn from the services.
But the NGOs and also the environmentalists who are here to save people from the pollution are recommending Ganeshas made out of clay.
The clay idols just mix with the water and there is no pollution generated in the process. The plaster of Paris idols with colours are costly and they spoil the environment and also the water bodies during the Nimajjan process.
Hence most of them are recommending the people to use clay Ganeshas without colors. Or one can use Natural colors which are eco-friendly. Several NGOs are gearing up to distribute Clay Ganehsas free of cost for the people and trying to save the environment from pollution.
Mumbai and Telugu states celebrate this festival in a big way and people including the youth are waiting for Ganesha to be worshipped. It is a 10-day festival and it will culminate with Shoba yatra on the last day where the Ganesha are immersed in the waters called the Nimajjan.
So please worship Clay Ganeshas and save the environment by avoiding pollution.
